The manual can be a bit confusing so here’s an easy how-to for removing and adjusting the side cowling heat panels for the 2013+ Yamaha FJR 1300 models. It’s just one quick fastener at the bottom which is hidden, then a slight nudge forward to disengage. You then pick one of two slot positions for the open or closed position and nudge backwards, replacing the quick connect. It doesn’t make a huge difference but in cold weather you get a touch more heat to the legs.
