By far the worst conditions I have ever had to ride in, I tackled the peaks of the Parkway in gale force winds, driving sheets of rain in 40 deg. temps and the most sketchy traction conditions ever. At times it was like ice with the combo of cold wet piles of freshly blown off leaves and standing water. Photography plans were scraped although I tried one shoot in the rain anyway. Beyond that, it was simply too foggy to see anything past the immediate trees along the road. It took me 6 hours to cover 100 miles and I would have just stayed an extra day in the motel if I thought it would be that bad. If you don’t HAVE to ride in those conditions, don’t.
